When was the last time we had a rule change that affected every play of every game? (Answer: NEVER…until this season)
This season’s introduction of a 40-second play clock adds a new—but manageable—complexity to the game. On every play, either a 25-second or a 40-second play clock is ‘assigned’ to govern game flow and assess delay.
